Make-up journey with Xi Ying

What is your best beauty ally ?
That has to be concealer. When I‘m not in the mood for a full face makeup I only use concealer and I‘m good to go.

What inspires you for your make up ?
Right now, my focus is on recreating artworks so mostly original art itself. My creativity is fuelled by my mood and strong emotions when I look at something. From then, I think of a concept in my head and try to incorporate it with makeup.

If you had to do a red carpet make-up what would it be ?
I would go for a bright red lip and do something special with my eye-makeup. For example, I would do eyeliner in different shapes or play with my blush and make it extra colourful. I guess that would be too much right?

Between all your products, if you had to keep one of them what would it be  ?
My eyebrow pencil and pomade! Nothing makes my makeup look put together then filled in eyebrows. I‘ve been loving feathery/bushy brows recently!

For the lipstick you’re on team matte or shiny ?
100% shiny! They make my lips look fuller and I love the glossy feel of it. I used to wear matte all the time but now I love lip tints topped with a gloss. Plus they won‘t dry out my lips.

Any advice for an efficient cleansing ?
I just discovered balm cleanser and I regret not buying this magic pot sooner. It literally melts off your makeup and leaves your skin feeling so soft. Another thing is, incorporate chemical peelings. They are great for stubborn blackheads and exfoliates your skin from dead cells. The makeup can sit on your skin so much better.
