Self-confidence and well-being: an open letter to us

We often think that taking care of ourselves and our appearance is a very superficial thing. However, it is a moment that we give ourselves. A parenthesis, a break in our daily life. We don’t take care of ourselves with the idea of validation from others, we take care of ourselves to get to know ourselves and love ourselves a little more each day.  

Confidence can come through so many little things: a relaxing moment in a spa where you are pampered, a sweaty gym session where you release all the anxiety and pressure, trying to do that hairstyle you saw on Pinterest that you love so much, getting that manicure you’ve been dreaming of for months. 

All these little details that can make us feel good, become little moments of happiness or decompression. It is by taking time for ourselves that we also discover our weaknesses, our strengths and this is what allows us to evolve and acquire a certain self-confidence. 

So give yourself this time to yourself, it may seem scary to be alone for a little while but let others take care of you. In this way, you will regain the power of your mind and your personality will awaken. 

So don’t be afraid to give yourself a break, to treat yourself by buying that famous mask with little sequins, by daring to wear that dress that “looks better on others”, to go for a walk while listening to your favorite playlist. Don’t wait until everyone else is available to have a Netflix & Chill party. Don’t hesitate to take the plunge, that’s how you’ll know your true worth.
