The guide for a fierce skin with François Delacroix

François Delacroix, 22 years old, model, Les Mureaux – France. @frankysn0w

First of all, how did you get interested in the world of beauty?
I started to gain interest in the world of beauty when I started modeling. The fact that I am prepared every day by professional makeup artists has pushed me to take care of my skin because the better the skin is maintained the faster the work of the make-up on shooting and the less the skin is damaged with a ton of products. It’s also a way to take care of myself instead of  telling myself I’m doing it for work!

What does your skincare routine look like?
Beforehand, I like to use natural products for my skin to not be too aggressive. which is why my skincare routine consists of 5 products:

– A black charcoal cleansing gel from Horace
– An exfoliating cream from Horace
– A moisturizing cream from Horace
– Marula oil from The Ordinary
– A spray with rose water

I start by cleansing my face with charcoal gel and warm water to open the pores,  then I apply the exfoliant with emphasis on the nose, the chin, the lips and the between eyebrows to remove impurities, then I rinse with very cool water. I come to moisturize my skin with a cream and I add 4 drops of marula oil to thoroughly moisturize (we can put whatever oil we want as long as it is cold pressed) and I end up with spraying lightly some rose water.

Throughout the day I use Vaseline or other lip balm to keep my lips hydrated and also during the evening before going to bed. I use the exfoliator only if necessary otherwise it can cause micro lesions, so once or twice a week. I clean my face morning and night especially when I spend the day outside because with all the micro bacteria invisible to the naked eye lying around, it is important to keep your skin clean.

What is your favorite beauty product?
Without a doubt: rose water! As I said I am a big fan of natural products and rose water has many benefits for the skin but also the hair!

How do you prep and maintain your skin throughout Fashion Week?
To keep my skin in shape during FW, I make sure to drink a lot of water, at least 1 liter a day, especially no soda or coffee etc because not only I am not a fan of it. It is also not healthy for the skin. I also avoid anything that is linked to alcohol. I also make sure I have enough sleep hours to have a smooth and rested skin. To add to all of that , well, a healthy and balanced diet with lots of fruits and vegetables, which will help maintain the elasticity of the skin and restore the color. I respect my skin routine in the mornings and evenings, in the rush of fashion shows we don’t necessarily think about these things, so a good organization is necessary on my part!

What are your tips to unwind after a long day of shooting?
After my shooting sessions, which can sometimes be very long, I like to take a good shower to relax and leave my phone away from me. Put on a mask, do a treatment, or listen to music. I like to stay calm to end my days because usually I am surrounded by many people on the same day so I like to walk alone and often, as far as possible, play the guitar in front of the sunset. It helps me relax and think about other things.
