The guide for a fierce skin with François Delacroix

François Delacroix, 22 years old, model – Les Mureaux, France. @frankysn0w

First of all, how did you become interested in the world of beauty?
I became interested in the world of beauty when I started modeling. Being groomed every day by professional makeup artists kind of pushed me to take care of my skin because the better the skin is groomed the faster the makeup work on shoots and the less the skin is damaged with a ton of products. It’s also a way to take care of myself before I say I’m doing it for work!

What does your skincare routine look like?
I like to use natural products for my skin so as not to damage it too much. That’s why my skincare routine consists of only 5 products:

  • Horace exfoliating cream
  • Horace moisturizer
  • Marula oil from The Ordinary
  • Rose water spray

I start by cleansing my face with the charcoal gel and warm water to open the pores, then I apply the exfoliant, insisting on the nose, chin, lips and between the eyebrows to remove impurities, then I rinse with cool water.

I moisturize my skin with a cream and I add 4 drops of marula oil to moisturize deeply (you can use any oil you want as long as it is cold pressed) and I finish by spraying lightly with rose water.

Throughout the day I use a lip balm such as Vaseline or others to keep my lips moisturized and I also apply some at night before going to bed.

I only use the exfoliator if necessary, otherwise it can cause micro lesions, so once or twice a week.

I clean my face in the morning and evening, especially when I’m outside all day, because with all the micro-bacteria that are invisible to the naked eye, it’s important to keep my skin clean.

What is your favorite beauty product?
Without hesitation: rose water!

As I said I am a big fan of natural products and rose water has many benefits for the skin but also the hair!

How do you prepare, and maintain your skin throughout Fashion Week?
To keep my skin in shape during Fashion Week I make sure to drink a lot of water, at least 1 liter a day, especially no sodas or coffee etc. because I’m not a big fan and besides it’s not great for the skin. I also avoid all alcohol.

I also make sure I get enough sleep to keep my skin supple and rested.

Add to that, of course, a healthy and balanced diet with lots of fruits and vegetables, which will help maintain the elasticity of the skin and restore color. I respect my skin routine every morning and evening, in the rush of the fashion shows we don’t necessarily think about these things, so a good organization is necessary on my part!

What are your tips for relaxing after a long day of shooting?
After my shoots, which can sometimes be very long, I like to take a good shower to relax and leave my phone far from me. Do a mask or a treatment, listen to music.

I like to stay in a quiet place to finish my day because I am usually surrounded by a lot of people in one day so I like to walk alone and often, if possible, play my guitar in front of the sunset. It allows me to relax and think about other things.
